Letter from the chair of governors

Dear Parents

Please find enclosed a copy of the Ofsted inspection report that we have just received.  As you are aware, Ofsted carried out an inspection of the three-sites over two days, 19-20 February 2013.  Overall it was a very positive experience, affirming many of the things we know we do very well.

We were really delighted to maintain a ‘Good’ judgement overall, the same as in May 2010, but now under a tougher framework that was introduced in September 2012.  This is not an easy judgement to secure in all four areas:

·         Achievement of Pupils

·         Quality of Teaching

·         Behaviour and safety of pupils

·         Leadership and Management

To quote some of the highlights from the report:

‘All pupils are extremely well cared for’,  ‘All pupils ... achieve well’,  ‘Children in the Early Years Foundation Stage make outstanding progress’,  ‘Pupil’s behaviour is good, they are safe and secure at school’, ‘Parents are rightly pleased with the school’, ‘The new head teacher has a ‘clear vision’ and ‘The governing body gives clear direction to the school’.

Thank you to everyone who was able to play a part in feeding back views about the school to Ofsted and I would like to say a special thank you to Stephen Passey and all the staff at school not only for the effort put in to securing such a positive outcome for the inspection but for their relentless commitment and hard work.

Please take time to read the report in full. Over the coming weeks we will be looking at how best to implement the key areas of feedback highlighted.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me.

Best Wishes

Fiona Lloyd
